News: Goodbye My Alcomy, hello Sophie!
Finally, after umming and ahhing and with bittersweet feelings, I decided to move away from my business name My Alcomy. Partly because nobody gets it and partly because Google still thinks it's a typo, bringing up a ship called My Alchemy.
The biggest reason I didn't break away from the term earlier was that I loved the way My Alcomy looks when written for my logo–my alCOM.y. Aesthetics are important to me.
Instead, I now using my name, Sophie Zadeh, since people already search for me that way. I've already made the majority of changes and will gradually transition away from the term in its entirety.
My new website address is https://sophiezadeh.com.
If you're wondering what My Alcomy means, Alcomy is an old Scottish variant of the word Alchemy, meaning to take something ordinary and transform it into something extraordinary. Hence my tagline, transforming lives through nonverbal communication science. It’s people I transform. I equip people with the knowledge and skills to make small changes to their behaviour. In turn, those small changes have a significant impact on how they are perceived by others. And therefore on how people respond and behave towards them.
I went with the alcomy variant since it includes 'com' (for communication), hence my logo my alCOM.y.
Goodbye My Alcomy. Onwards and upwards.
