Statement Analyst, Colin Ector Joins Sophie Zadeh
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Statement Analyst, Colin Ector, from Through the Lens of Statement Analysis and Statement Analysis Services Australia, has joined us as a contributor to the blog and statement analysis service provider.
Colin will be analysing the statements of people of interest and enlightening us into the hidden meaning behind their words. You can see his recent article here, Christian Porter Denies Historical Rape Allegation.
Here’s Colin describing what statement analysis is…
What is Statement Analysis?
Statement Analysis is the scientific process of detecting deception from people’s words. When we speak or write we must choose what to say, which words to use and which to leave out, all in a fraction of a second.
A direct lie is stressful to the brain and will be avoided upwards of 90 percent of the time, even by the most deceitful. Most that wish to deceive do so by lying by omission. Certain patterns and sensitivity indicators appear in their language which can be picked up on by the trained analyst.
Statement Analysis when applied correctly, being strict to principle, has proven itself in testing to be more accurate than the polygraph. It also has the advantage of giving the analyst much more information as everything comes from the subject or suspect themselves. They are the ones who know what really happened and the more they try to hide information the more they give away.
Likewise, the more you learn about analysis the more you want to learn….
